Driving for School Activities

As per diocesan policy, only drivers approved by Catholic Mutual, the diocesan insurance company, may drive a school vehicle or transport students in personal or school vehicles for school-related activities. All employees and volunteers who will be transporting students in school or personal vehicles for school related events must have completed a Driver/Vehicle Information Sheet and completed the Driver's Safety Course on-line prior to the 10th of the month in which they plan to drive.

The completed form will be forwarded to the diocese for review. Once successfully completed, the school will be notified of the clearance for the driver. Driver reviews deemed "urgent" (forms turned in after the 10th of the month and needed immediately) will result in a cost $13.50 which will be billed to the driver/organization.

Cell Phones and Drivers

As per school/diocesan policy, employees or volunteers driving a school or personal vehicle on school business (transporting students, school equipment, etc.) are prohibited from the use of a cell phone (receiving or sending a phone call; typing or reading a text) while driving.
