  • Lynne (Nacke, attended Gehlen Catholic School) Dingman is the newest leader of the track & field program at Northern State University.
  • Sister Rosalie Erdmann (’46) with Sisters of the Living Word celebrated her 70th jubilee on June 22 At St. Edna Catholic Church.
  • Rev. Philip F. Dreckman (’46), SJ, celebrated his 70th year as a member of the Society of Jesus on August 17, 2019.
  • Audrey & Robert (’49) Kurth were married in 1956.All 6 children attended Gehlen Catholic–Robert, ’76; Ken, ’78; Dennis, ’80; Mary Ann, ’84; Margaret, ’85; & Theresa, ’88.
  • Mary Ellen Hoss-Sabers (’59) is retired & would like to own a vineyard & live in Italy.
  • Jolene & Tom (’59) Wiltgen were high school sweethearts.They were married in 1962 & had 2 children.The rest is history!
  • Mary Kaye (Luedtke, ’62) Bryant went out to the Central Coast & knows why she has stayed there since 19990.She just retired & can be your expert Travel Guide!
  • Fran (Weenink, ’64) Kraus did not graduate with her classmates.She attended St. Joseph’s when her family lived in Le Mars.She moved to Arizona due to asthma & was excited to participate in the Sesquicentennial activities this past summer.
  • Betsy (Becker, ’65) Carlson is a writer-editor & not retired!
  • Rick Rolling (’74) was honored as the Grand Marshal for Augustfest in Kingsley, Iowa, on August 10, 2019.
  • Connie (Freking, ’78) Christensen had a wonderful 50th class reunion & was looking forward to the All School Reunion this summer.
  • Connie (Stoeber, ‘71) Beernink moved with her family during her junior year in high school.Connie attended Gehlen Catholic from 1st-10th grade & was unable to graduate from Gehlen Catholic High School.
  • Janet (Kolbeck, ’74) & George Dirksen have 3 children who attended Gehlen Catholic-Andy, ’01; Scott, ’04; & Kari, ’07.They also have 3 grandchildren.
  • Denise & Paul (’79) Gengler own Shepherd’s Floral & Gift Shop & Shepherd’s Floral Greenhouse in Le Mars.
  • Donna (DeRocher, ’83) Bishop joined FACTS Education Solutions, a national educational services company.Donna spoke at the Latino Enrollment Institute on July 17, 2019, at the University of Notre Dame on “How to Access Title Funds.”In August 2019, Donna was hired as the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Des Moines.
  • LTO Michael R. Mai (’96) is currently an Active Duty Lt. Colonel & will be promoted to Colonel in 2020.He is currently attending the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School pursuing a Master’s Degree in National Resource Strategy in Washington, D.C.

  • Katie (Loutsch, ’03) Arkema is a LMFT Turner Therapy & Counseling, L.L.C. in Sioux City.
  • Taylor Peters (’15) teaches Kindergarten at Kluckhohn for Le Mars Community School.
  • Megan Kellen (’16) was recognized in the Growing South Dakota newsletter, Summer 2019, in an article entitled “Students’ Association:The Inside Scoop”for her service as a Senator for the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences for the South Dakota State University (SDSU) Students’ Association.Megan also serves as an Admissions Ambassador; is actively involved at Pius XII Newman Center; & is a member of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club & State A Thon.
  • James Kellen (‘18) was recognized in the Growing South Dakota newsletter, Summer 2019.James is a member of the SDSU Quarter-Scale Tractor Team.The team was named the Reserve National Champions at the 2019 American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition held May 30-June 2 in Peoria, Illinois.
  • Jared Morris (’19) graduated July 25-26, 2019.He is an Airmen 1st Class with the 185th Reserve & Refueling Unit in Sioux City, Iowa.
